Ramstein Air Base is a United States Air Force base located in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It serves as headquarters for the United States Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa and is also a North Atlantic Treaty Organization installation. Ramstein Air Base is located approximately 10 miles southwest of Kaiserslautern, Germany and is home to the 86th Airlift Wing, the largest wing of the United States Air Force's Air Mobility Command.

The base also serves as a transit point for personnel and cargo traveling between Europe and the Middle East, Africa, and the United States. Additionally, the base is a major refueling point for aircraft operating in the region.

On base, there are a variety of services and amenities available, including a post office, a chapel, a library, a fitness center, a commissary, a bank, and a variety of restaurants and shops.
