Following our last post, where we reviewed some of the most common mistakes of beginners in this business of traveling around the world , today we want to add some more wrong patterns. After the "will I need a cardigan?" The "we will decide that there" and "that is what everyone does" , what other attitudes can spoil a great trip ? Let's see three more.
What souvenirs shall we bring for... ?
Sometimes finding a good souvenir for a beloved one who could not come with us becomes an important part of the journey that can stop us from doing other more important activities. In these cases, unless the search for the perfect gift is the reason of our trip, it would be convenient to leave the acquisition of souvenirs for the quietest moments of our vacation time, based on our plans, even if it means buying the typical items that everyone gets in the city where we are, it is the fastest way to do it.
Photos , yes or no ?
Something similar can be said about taking pictures . A widespread mistake is taking pictures of almost everything so we can remember it later, but you have to admit that we barely look at all those pictures after all. The ones we want to see again, or show our friends, are not 300 photographs including certain monuments in thousand different perspectives. It is better a well taken picture than a hundred on the same subject, specially if we are in it. The reason for this is that the photographs are a complement to the journey, not the goal itself ( unless you are a photographer) .
Too many activities
If last week we mentioned that a common mistake is to leave the planning of activities for the destination place , another pattern to avoid is the opposite , that is, having all so prepared and calculated that we leave no room for improvisation. Perhaps in this case balance is essential. Why not to leave a morning or an afternoon to do what you please, without following a prescribed route? Many of us have found that the most unforgettable and funniest moments of a trip occurred in these times of necessary idleness.
It is good to have these ideas in mind, because the difference between an unforgettable vacation and a tasteless one resides not in the destination, but the in way in which we enjoyed it.
