Hi friends, travelling to Ireland has increased significantly lately, placing the island among the most visited places in Europe. The great Celtic influence on its modern culture and traditions, make Ireland the perfect place to give us a magical walk through the ancient history of these peculiar people of the North.
The question that all travellers make before visiting a place is how much does it cost? Hence the importance to get a general idea of the approximate cost of living in this beautiful island. Here are some general prices, which clearly provide guidance for calculating the trip cost.
Air travel and car rental vary depending on the period of the year you are visiting the island, however, you can find great and attractive offers, it is just a matter of searching and comparing.
Once there you can find these prices:
The transfer from the airport to the centre of Dublin: the Aircoach is a bus that takes you from the airport to the city, for 7 €. If you prefer to save some euros, you can get the ticket for bus line 38, which makes the same journey for just over 2 €.
Double room: 40 € / person bed and breakfast. In a mid-term hotel.
Average price of trains: Nearby train or DART, cost about 2€ each way.
Local restaurant menu (Pub): Starters for 4-8 €, main course 12-20 €, pint of beer 4€, the water is usually free (tap water).
Bottle of water: 1.5 €
Loaf: 1.5 €
Tickets for parks: free.
In Dublin, we recommend Saint Anne's Park (Raheny) and Malahide Park, which is in a lovely town called Malahide about 25 minutes from Dublin city centre.
A pint of beer: 4 €. It is a bit more than half a litre.
Taxis: 20 € a journey of about 10 Km. In Ireland it is better to rent a car to provide mobility throughout the island.
If you smoke, you'd better quit during your stay in Dublin since the packets can exceed 8 € ...
The best thing to do to plan your trip to Ireland with success is to make flight reservations and car rental early and online, as well as accommodation, as it is the best way to spend a significant part of your money to enjoy the city once there.
